If you have only one day to explore Orchha, this is the perfect tour for you. We have picked our favourite set of highlights below; however you are welcome to discuss your interests with us to tailor the plan.
What we recommend:
- Drive to the Orchha Fort Complex. Heritage Walk, with an introduction to Bundela history, seeing Rai Parveen Mahal, green fields and some exquisite temple ruins.
- Arrive at the Betwa riverbank, take in the scenic views and peaceful environs. Great for photography as well.
- Return to explore the Fort Complex - visit the impressive Raja Mahal and Jahangir Mahal, see the camel stables
- After a lunch break, visit Chaturbhuj Temple and Ram Raja Temple
Visit Shri Hardaul Baithka, a shrine to a Bundela prince who became a folk god. The nearby bazaar provides a glimpse into the religious and cultural life of Orchha.
- Drive around for scenic views and photography of the Bundela cenotaphs across the river.
- If you are interested, we can also visit the Betwa ghat – a flight of steps leading down to the river where people gather to bathe and pray.

If you are interested in sunset or sunrise photography, we can adjust the tour timings for you. If there is anything specific you would like to see, please let us know. We can also plan a shorter 4hr tour if you wish. Please wear sensible footwear as there is some walking involved. We will visit functioning temples so please dress appropriately.
